Webinar 28 July 2026

Connected or Controlled : Tech, Teens, and Teaching Boundaries

Join SAALED for an engaging webinar with Kate Farina, Head of Strategy for SFC-SA Smartphone Free Childhood South Africa, as we explore the growing influence of smartphones and social media on children and teenagers.

SFC-SA is part of a global movement advocating for childhoods rooted in play, curiosity, connection, and real-world experiences. Working alongside schools and communities, the organisation promotes phone-free school environments and the mindful, safeguarded use of technology.

This session will unpack the challenges and opportunities of growing up in a digital world, offering practical insights for educators, parents, and support professionals on setting healthy boundaries and helping young people develop balanced relationships with technology.

A timely and important conversation for anyone supporting children and teens in today’s connected world. This webinar takes place on Tuesday, 28 July at 18:00 via MS Teams.  The price is R230 for members and R320 for non-members. School block bookings should be sent directly to events@saaled.org.za
